Really enjoyed (4/5) |
Really enjoyed (4/5) |
Overall, thought it was really delicious. The coconut sauce was maybe a little bit burnt; on the flipside, the basil was a nice addition. |

Brilliant (4/5) |
I could have sworn there was aniseed in that bread. I do not take to aniseed. I was very good about this and barely mentioned it. Anyhow the lovely soup smothered the aniseed taste in loveliness. (4/5) |
Too much lemon, otherwise yummy and well-blended |

I did the washing up |
Seemed authentic, pain to wash up (I think... I didn't do it) |

| Spanakopita? |
Some debate about whether this was a pie or a spanakopita... either way, it was great. Sated my spanakopita craving.
I'm really impressed as well because the pastry was homemade too. Unfortunate it's so
good because we were kind of hoping this was going to be a dudd so we could have a low rating
and so the high ratings might stand out a bit more (4/5). |
If I were humble I'd call this a crumble... but that'd be a lie, it was surely a pie. Don't start apropos tart. |
Overall, I liked this. Potentially there could have been a higher filling to pastry ratio, but the pastry was delicious so flavour-wise not a problem. Yum! |

| Farinata, egg & green beans |
The more I think about this meal, the more I like it. The farinata was mealy in a great way
and I didn't know I needed the rosemary. Also the green beans were a nice antidote to
all the salads we've been having.
| Dessicated chickpeas and plain green beans. Monastic? Dopamine detox. But the friends really made it. 'A loaf of bread, a jug of wine, and thou beside me, yacketing in the wilderness'. |
The second serving of the pancake was good, otherwise medium; 2/5 |

| Chickpea, potato & green sauce |
Incredible. Wow. Would pay £13.50 at e5 for this. Flavour, taste etc -wise it was all there and did what I needed it to do.
Think the speed with which it came together, perfectly timed to coincide with the end of my shower was brilliant. Enjoyed that
it used up leftover ingredients. Like that HE improvised, experimented and it really paid off. Also am told that this is a German
style dish, which really tickles me. 2 small things - (1) a little too much oil (2) as I write this, my stomach is feeling
quite upset - don't really know what that's about. 5/5

| Hut: Knödel & Radler |
Knödel blew me away, especially the cheese one. Radler was a brilliant concept and just what I needed on a hot day - but, would have preferred slightly less sweet. For those who don't know, a Radler is beer + lemonade, so similar to a Shandy. 4.5/5 |
